Ayodeji Balogun currently serves as the Country Manager for AFEX Commodities Exchange Limited (AFEX Nigeria) and the Business Lead for Africa Exchange Holdings Limited in West Africa, where he is pioneering the development of a private sector led commodities exchange and warehouse receipt system. Prior to his role as Country Manager, Ayodeji was in charge of developing the company’s new market entry strategy in East and West Africa, Ayodeji doubles as the Product Development Manager, leading value chain development in the Agriculture Sector, and designing physical and derivative contracts for commodities across markets in Africa.
Before joining AFEX, Ayodeji supported several private sector enabling policy initiatives at the Tony Elumelu Foundation including designing the Nigerian National Competitiveness Council and drafting a bill to regulate the non-profit sector in Nigeria.
He has a Masters’ in Business Administration from the Lagos Business School.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
As the Business Development Manager (BDM), Akinyinka’s role amongst other things, is to ensure the company meets its set objectives. This is done by a monitoring and evaluation process which involves developing metrics and measuring the performance of the organization against such. Overseeing outreach activities is also a pivotal function of the BDM. This involves recruitment, training and evaluation of activities of Commercial and Outreach Officers, aimed at increasing the penetration of the company (AFEX).
Big data management also falls under the purview of the BDM, he is responsible for ensuring all data, generated and captured by the business, are easily accessible and readily available in an easy to use (and retrieve) format while supporting the product development process as well as unlocking finance for the commodities market through a process of engagement with commercial banks, investment banks, fund managers and potential investors in the commodities market.
Prior to joining the Management team at AFEX Commodities Exchange Limited, Akinyinka was a Research Analyst and Market Development Officer at FMDQ OTC Securities Exchange. He was part of the team that launched the FX Futures on the exchange; the first of its kind in Nigeria. Akinyinka also worked with FDHL, a Financial Markets Consulting firm and also with Huawei Technologies Ltd in Nigeria.
He has a MBA from Lagos Business School and is a Level 3 CFA candidate.
ISIOMA O. ORIDE
INTERNAL CONTROL & COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Isioma Oreva Oride is the Internal Control & Compliance Manager and Head, Finance and Business Assurance with the responsibilities of ensuring; 100% compliance with all regulatory requirements by SEC, all company policies are up to date and are strictly adhered to. Auditing of warehouse operations – quantity, quality and processes. She supervises all activities in the finance & business assurance department and also ensures 100% compliance with finance policies and procedures during transactions.
Before AFEX, she was a Treasury Analyst, Group Finance at Heirs Holdings Limited. There she monitored the group’s funds utilization and banking relationship, administered the group’s payroll process, ensured 100% compliance with approval limits for all expenses. While managing the group’s budgetary process and timely and effective treasury management support to subsidiary companies. She holds a degree in Mathematics and Economics and is a student member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
Nancy Olisakwe is the Senior Analyst at AFEX Commodities Exchange Limited. Has both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Economics. She is a graduate member of the Nigerian Institute of Management.
Before AFEX, Nancy was a process trainer and quality analyst at ISON BPO Ibadan Nigeria, where she facilitated training of new hires as well as existing employees on Airtel process. She developed unique contents for leadership & development trainings and built in-house presentations for team development.
FINANCE & BUSINESS ASSURANCE ANALYST
Ngozi Nwogu is Finance & Business Assurance Analyst at AFEX Commodities Exchange Limited. Has a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Dundee and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Covenant University, also a student-member of the Association of Certified Chattered Accountant. A Team player and Task oriented.
Funmi controls the processes of Pre-trading and trading transaction with Traders, Farmers and logistics providers for the Exchange. She creates and updates the account profiles of clients (farmers and traders) and customers daily with information relating to Quantities, Pricing, and quality of commodities on SAP.
As the Supervisor of Farmers outreach activities, she manages the data base of over 65,000 farmer’s profiles on the Exchange as well as posting all Farmers and traders contract as regards supplies and storages done with the exchange on SAP.
She has a Bachelor’s in counselling psychology.
SHARED SERVICES ANALYST
As the Shared services analyst, Farhat’s responsibilities are broad. Some of them include but not limited to; providing executive Assistance to Country Manager while overseeing office administration, handling inventory management as well as managing office reports and records keeping.
She provides back-end support for the sales operation department and also Protocol services, not limited to guest management, hotel bookings, local transportation, flight bookings and vendor management. She functions as the In-house Events planner, budgeting and handles stakeholder engagement and Media & Communications management.
Farhat holds a degree in Geology.
